Beating dyslexia was founded in order to improve dyslexia awareness and provide tools for individuals and parents. In addition, highlight crucial strategies and services, as well as significant dates for events and courses that will benefit individuals with dyslexia.
As a member of our community, you can rely on BD's support and continual assistance with any and all dyslexia-related issues. We will be posting weekly articles on dyslexia-related topics to help those who are affected, and we'll be making local appearances to raise dyslexia awareness and answer any questions or concerns.
My name is Kennedy Ramos and I am a high school student who struggles with Dyslexia. My older brother and dad also struggles because dyslexia is genetic. I have firsthand experienced everyday challenges and have also witnessed theirs, as we have different types of Dyslexia. Fortunately, my mother was knowledgeable about impairments and was able to push for assistance, but for those who aren't as lucky, I developed this website to assist them. I intend to promote my website through my reign as RIM Miss New York Teen 2022 and in the Royal International Pageant, where I seek to broaden the understanding of websites from a state-wide to an international level.
While it is said one in five children have dyslexia , that number happens to be inaccurate as there are many more undiagnosed cases like mine. I mistakenly found out I had dyslexia while I was creating this website to help my brother and dad who have a reading disability. While researching I discovered dyslexia was genetic and as I continued to learn more about the characteristics and challenges of dyslexia, I discovered that I struggle with it as well . I decided to start blogging along with appearing on talk shows to discuss more than just diagnosing and testing for dyslexia, since now I am able to relate first hand. I now share personal experiences, various tools and information available to help others and I'm so excited to beat dyslexia with the community BD brings me!
The International Dyslexia Association receives 100% of our proceeds. Their main mission is to study dyslexia, because this disability is so widespread, your contribution will assist at least one close relative or friend, so please join us in making a difference in the lives of our friends and family.
